Adrian Ramos Monroy, Beloved Salem Teen, Tragically Killed in Early-Morning Highway 214 Crash in Marion County, OR

Adrian Ramos Monroy, an 18-year-old from Salem, tragically lost their life in a fiery single-vehicle crash on Highway 214 in Marion County early Wednesday morning.

Oregon State Police reported that troopers responded just before 2 a.m. to the scene near milepost 22, where Monroy’s Subaru left the roadway and collided with a tree.

Following the initial impact, the vehicle continued down an embankment and caught fire, and Monroy was pronounced dead at the scene.

A 24-year-old passenger sustained serious injuries and was transported to a local hospital for emergency treatment, though authorities have not released further details about their condition.

Investigators believe that speed may have been a contributing factor, but the exact cause of the crash remains under review as officials continue their active investigation.
